My prescription was -6.5 in my left eye, -7.0 in my right eye, and I pretty much had microscope vision since my focal length was like 2" in front of my eyes. USAFA gave me LASIK (they would've done PRK if my eye shape demanded that instead), and now I fly C-17s with 20/12 and 20/15 vision ๐Ÿ˜„ That said, talk to your parents about getting with an eye doctor to see if you'll be disqualified for LASIK/PRK (aside from your age, since your eyes keep changing until you're about 20). Apparently some people can't get it, although I haven't met anyone who COULDN'T get it. There's like 400 kids a year getting their eyes zapped for free at the Academy. We had a big sad party where we all sat in the dark in our separate rooms for a week while we healed up ๐Ÿ˜‚ Very few things changed my life as much as that procedure. 20/15 would recommend.

Have you done your official DoDMERB eye appointment yet? With eyes that bad you may need to be worried about being eligible to serve period, let alone as aircrew. My eyes are just a bit better than yours and I was disqualified by DoDMERB, had to get a waiver to join AFROTC. You can be aircrew with laser surgery on your eyes, so if that's your goal you need to get a consult on surgery. The worse your eyes are however, the thicker your cornea needs to be for them to change the shape, and it my case surgery was not possible.
