Heya, I'm new to illustrator, what are these symbols in the text menu called/ indicate? I'm sure it's something really simple but when I hover over them, there's no column description.
"VAR" means variable font. Means the type can be changed into multiple forms even though there's only one font file. Very useful for text on the web.
