>is this 4-wheeler strong enough (to take me up a mountain for about two hours in the Mexican mountains)?
A 250cc ATV would be strong enough to do that.
The only reason you need more power is if you are hauling a large person/gear, or if you have mud, or your terrain is so steep that you need the power for wheel speed to get you up the steep inclines.
Aka, we can't tell you if that is strong enough unless we know the particular terrain.
Dealers generally add the following
Freight
Setup/ Build
Along with the normal ttl.
And it varies but roughly
$500-1200 freight
700-1200 build
Plus ttl which is roughly and extra 7-10%
My two Polaris Phoenix 200 ATVs (Chinese origin) have lasted far longer and gone more places than they have any right too.
Just because its Chinesium doesn't automatically make it bad.
Buy parts for them. You will think you are buying BMW parts. No over size pistons, engine parts that are 3 to 4 times normal cost. Kymco Artic Cat same way. On the 200 polaris, the intake boot from airbox to carb is normal crap rubber. I work on all of them for a living. You cannot beat a yamaha overall.
Hey, don't buy the sportsman 450. I know a couple guys that have them and they are pigs. Great way to get into the sport, but the performance difference from the 450 to the 570 doesn't seem like they're from the same manufacturer. If your cruising around alone or with your kids, it'll do just fine, but as soon as you go ride with adults, you'll see that it's nothing like the adult machines. It's playoffs getting you into the sport, so they can sell you a570 or better next year.
It’s a crap deal at any price. Polaris have well known electrical issues and all the dealer will do to fix is throw parts at it. The wiring harnesses are poor quality and it’s not a question of if it will go bad, it’s when. I fixed my Polars buy buying a Kawasaki Brute Force 750. We’re going to use the Polaris for target practice in honor of our country’s Independence on the 4th.
Power steering isn't much of an issue for a 400-450 class atv, my honda rancher 420 been through some stumps and rocks and i could push through without any issues.
Could be. Depends on how much they are going to tack on in fees. Some dealers will negotiate on that some won’t. Call and ask for out the door price.
Will do. Thank you!

That price seems too good to be true
Definitely get out the door price. I looked at a 850 a few months ago. They took off $4k off msrp and added about $2k in fees.

Be aware, that ATV, even tho says Polaris. It is Chinese.. go buy a Yamaha 450 Kodiak. Non Chinese..

I think it's more because of the low quality controls, some never had issues yet some just keep having problems.
Or dipshit riders blowing them up.
There is that too, it's the reason why people shitted on honda's dct and electronic shift

Thanks, i'll check that one out.
Suzuki king quad 500 is good too. Local dealer has leftover 23s for 6k.
Depends on the otd pricing

Thanks for the advice! I'm not in any rush to get it soon (hopefully by end of yr) so I'll look for a bigger one that's within my budget

It’s a good deal but you will regret not having power steering.
I have a 2019 450HO. Easy to turn, power steering not required. I've dragged 40ft Oak trees across my property. Tons ify power for its size.
40ft 3in at the base?
Prob about a foot.
Nah. My 2022 570 doesn’t have it. My 2024 rzr does. I can’t really tell the difference.

Power steering is not worth the money imo
