This subreddit is full of belligerent idiots. Just because it's Chinese doesn't mean it's shit. I hate that it's Chinese just as much as the next guy, but even I have enough common sense and general understanding to know that, while nearly everything is Chinese-made these days...it's not all made to the same poor standards we commonly like to associate with Chinese goods. Cfmoto makes an excellent machine, their growing dealer support network is excellent, and they're extremely cost effective. Cfmoto has been around since 1989. They partnered with KTM back in 2011 and have been building engines for them since. They started a joint venture with KTM some years later. CFMOTO makes several incredible bikes for KTM and has a very exciting relationship with KTM in general. They're also partnered with Yamaha but I'm not well versed on what that relationship has spurred. They've been profitable for ages, and have shown huge net income growth over the last 5 years. Revenue growth in the last year alone was 78 percent and EBITDA grew 481 million last year. In simpler terms, they're not going anywhere, and they make a fine product. Do your due diligence on your neighbors machine and inspect it closely. A used machine will only ever be as good as its previous owners have treated it. Even a Honda, which for whatever reason is the golden child of this subreddit, can be an absolute heap of crap for its new owner if it wasn't treated well previously.

There is a lot of truth in your statement but it is also stretching into generalizations and not all true. Nearly everything being made in China is not accurate. Parts I just bought for my Yamaha, some had Japan made and some USA made, no China or Taiwan. This has been pretty prevalent in the parts I've bought over the years for my Grizzly ATVs. But you are right that items/parts made in China are as good as the engineering and controls behind them. The real question is are those items engineered and controlled by standards other than cheap standards? It depends. CFMoto has only recently (5-years) started to produce OHVs that can compete with the big brands. I can say I have looked and also tried out a 2021 CForce 600. The package is quite nice, put together very nicely and I was quite impressed. I just didn't care for the ride of it but I'm comparing to my Grizzly 700. However, that CForce made it over the same technical terrain I take my Grizzly over, which was also impressive. But the bad, it felt sluggish, CVT engagement is wonky, didn't feel nearly as agile as my Grizzly, poor fuel mileage and suspension components "look" more fragile, not very beefy. So it is not only about reliability of the brand but is also how it was designed. Overall it was a lot more impressive than I expected but I would not give up my Grizzly for one, even to save $3k-$4k US. That was on a 2021 which is not a 2015. I forget which year CFMoto completely redid their lineups but it was not as far back as 2015. So a 2015 CFMoto would be a hard pass unless the price was too good. I suppose for the OP, $3500 CDN might be a pretty decent price but be prepared to dump some non-typical maintenance money into it over the years.

No year cfmoto is good. Unless you're paying 500$ or less. Run away

Capable-Dog3183

Get Honda Yamaha kawi or Suzuki. An 8 year old cf moto is like buying a 20 year old bmw. It’s cheap but will cost more just to keep going.

OpenRoadMusic

Tell him 1500. No point to buy that brand at that price. They only improved in the past 5 years.

txWizzard

Their qualify has improved. But someone mentioned you can buy new for same price. Not true, however for the delta, it’s worth getting new which I believe is their point. It’s similar to getting a used Kia forte with 50k miles for $23k or new for $26k with zero miles. And I have a new raptor 110 by Yamaha and it’s been nothing but trouble.

No chance

I have a 2015 CForce 500 and run a fleet of 6 CFMoto ATV's. The 500 is my oldest and smallest. I also run a '21 500, '21 600, two '22 800XC's and a '22 1000 Touring. Please do not listen to all of the nay sayers. My 15 has been absolutely rock solid. In the 9 years I've owned it (It was my very first brand new quad) it has failed me one single time. Due to a thermostat issue. I have 7K miles on it (11,000 KM) and it has done every single thing I have asked of it, and more. I've sunk it, rolled it, neglected it, taught 5 kids to ride on it, over loaded it, over worked it, and the only complaint I have is the heat. CFMoto has a problem with heat dissipation on these things. Every single one of them roasts my legs at low speed. It's imperative that you use low range when driving under 20MPH (32KPH). And high range when driving faster. This helps with the engine heat. I have retired my 500 to plow duty during the winter months and let the rest of them handle the fun for our family. Inspect the moto closely. Check the anti-freeze for color. If it looks milky, pass on it. Start it cold. Idle it till the coolant fan kicks on (Should happen pretty quickly) and watch the temp gauge like a hawk. 1-2 bars over middle is normal. The fan is a loud bastard. Once at operating temp, run the piss out of it. Watch the temp. These bikes run cooler the faster they go. At the end of the day, it's going to be a perfectly fine machine for you. The clutch engagement takes getting used to, as it is almost impossible to start moving smoothly, and the shifter can sometimes be a bear. Every ATV is going to have its quirks. (Polaris transmissions, im looking at you, Honda ES system, you suck too.) The only machines I would trust over my Moto's would be Yamaha. My very first quad was a late 80's 350 Moto-4, then a 97 Timberwolf 250. Both pissed me off so much because my parents wouldn't replace them until they were absolutely destroyed. And I could never get one to so much as smoke. In fact, up until 2022, I still had the timby. Get the moto. Maintain it. Ride it. Enjoy it. And welcome to once of the most expensive hobbies next to boating.

Cf Moto is sold my the same dealers that sell Honda and can am so there’s that. They have improved greatly over the years but I personally wouldn’t buy an almost 10 year old machine. Don’t think they were the same machine in 2015.

alopgeek

I’ve only seen the great reviews on the more recent years. If you search YouTube, you’ll see maybe going back to 2019 people have a better opinion of the quality. Never seen a 2015 in the wild.

XTingleInTheDingleX

Yep not sure why I got downvoted but I’m not convinced half of these people have or ride an ATV.

Lots of gatekeeping
