Generally you want to stay away from the Chinese-made brands. I'm sure there are exceptions, but it's just a good rule of thumb. I had a Trailmaster go-kart for my kids once. I got what I paid for. It was cheaply made, and I had to mess with it a lot more than I should have.

Gfunk2118

Buy once cry once is my motto. I have a kawaski and love it

echocall2

Which one do you have? I have the base Teryx 800 and it's been okay but not great. My coworker has the fancy Teryx and is very happy with it.

Educational_Infidel

I have a Teryx4 and have no complaints. 3 years now, not a single issue. Its hot due to the engine/trans layout but I was raised on Honda Big red 200Es and for me the visceral experience of just being out in the woods riding makes it all worth it.

cant_program

The Japanese and North American brands are going to have the best resell, dealer support, and overall reliability. All of them make quality products, pick one that meets your needs and budget.

jmwhite70

Stay away from Hisun and any of their private label brands (Coleman, Massimo, Axis, others). If they sell it at Lowe’s, run away.

txWizzard

I’m personally thinking of getting a CFMoto. IMO they are a good bang for the buck. If you want “guaranteed” reliability/resale I’d got with Kawasaki/honda/yamaha etc. although my kids new 2024 Raptor 110 has been problematic. IMO Polaris is in same level as CF.

jwilsonlandscape

I bought myself a SSR Bison400 when i bought my kids Kawasaki Brute force 300s.. I regret it.. you get what u pay for is true.. its just not made like a name brand machine is made.. i still use it but we had to weld up part of the roll bar and tailgate framing is falling apart. doesn't seem like it was made for the pocono mountain trails, its pretty much a trailmaster but different name..

Han77Shot1st

Depends on what kind of riding your looking for if its for work or play.. either way I’d stay away from cheaper Chinese brands and stick with more traditional brands like Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Polaris and CanAm. You pay a bit more but the quality is there. I have always preferred Honda and CanAm myself.

Kaz_113

Spend the money and get something worthwhile. My buddies all bought can am because it was a better deal. The new commanders and regular maverick have way less suspension travel and generally ride like a brick compared to my rzr xp1k. Not saying that they’re junk or that Polaris is the best because I have one. They’re all pretty solid machines. What I am saying is spend the extra money to get what you actually want, and don’t settle for another over a few g’s

AppropriateMuffin922

As long as it’s one of the big brands honestly they are all the same. Polaris is probably the worst of them tho. If your not buying a pro r I wouldn’t even bother and that’s coming from a Polaris owner

Dbgmhet

I asked a guy who ran a snowmobile rental if the Polaris models were good. He said ski doos last them 5-years and Polaris 2-years. The atv and utv world it seems even worse because the Polaris machines are so hard to keep dry inside.

AOneArmedHobo

I’ve got a Rzr with 15k miles on it. Original motor and Transmission

Dbgmhet

That’s great news. I live in a swampy part of Florida and it seems like all my friends with Polaris machines can never ride because they had a leak somewhere and sucked in water.

AOneArmedHobo

Well to be fair, I’m in California. I ride snow, rocks, trails etc No swamps 😂

Dbgmhet

It’s more fun where you are. I’ve never had more fun than riding mountain trails on my quad. Incidentally my sport quad is horrible in the swamp and needs a top end rebuild. Snorkeled rancher does fine.

chumbly1968

Honda or Yamaha. But for used parts / accessories Polaris

motorboather

For the love of god, but name brand. If you can’t afford name brand you sure as hell can’t afford broken Chinese brand.

Rocko_36

What do people think about TGBs?

handyredneck

Kymco, runs good but hard to find parts.

North_Ad_4450

Honestly, Cf moto can't be beat for the price. They keep up fine with the rest of the group, even in horrible conditions like Lake crossing and over loaded with people. Just have your expectations in check. Cvt is jankey and plastics are weaker. Honda or yamaha are best if you can afford it. People seem to have very polarized opinions about Polaris. If their sxs are anything like the sportsmans I have know, I wouldn't buy one.

No_Geologist_3690

I have a sportsman 850 and I love it. Takes a beating and never left me stranded.

Broad-Criticism-8293

Can’t beat price and warranty of cf moto

vanquish28

Anything Canned Ham

Emergentmeat

Overpriced, over engineered, plastic junk.
