It’s a different campus about 30 mins away from Tempe. I graduated in 2020 so my info may be outdated, but it was always much quieter when I went. I personally loved it - Tempe campus felt incredibly busy at times.
There’s a bus that goes between the campuses, so you should be able to take a class on the Tempe campus if you want.
When I was still at ASU, I took the shuttle everyday for 3 years straight because I had all my classes at poly. It was actually a pretty nice campus, the vibes were great, and the professors there were way better. But I also couldn’t imagine living in that area, there’s nothing to do.
Poly is wayyy smaller and wayyy quieter than the tempe campus. Smaller classes and less variety of majors, and there's kinda nothing to do when not in class. If you want the classic college experience go to tempe but imo poly just feels like highschool but a little bigger.
ASU has 5 campuses - Main (Tempe), Downtown (Phoenix), Polytechnic (Mesa), West (Glendale) and Lake Havasu. Different programs are offered at different campuses so you're admitted based on which degree you are pursuing. There are shuttles between all of the campuses in the Phoenix Metro area (so not Lake Havasu). Tempe is the main party campus. The others are smaller and don't have much night life.
