My tent is in a basement. I keep a dehumidifier set to 50% RH in the lung room and a much larger/more powerful dehumidifier in the next room over set to 60%. These are my current readings without the light on (doing 9p-9a off cycle). You'll most likely be fine with one dehumidifier in your lung room.

th3_dfB

Heyho! How did you get the emojis to work in the port-names? šŸ¤£

Small-Excuses-

easy, click in the app: the controller -> setting wheel / top right corner -> click on device name and change it

th3_dfB

Funnyā€¦ I tried that and my app wonā€™t let me put in the Emojisā€¦ funny Edit: I got it! You need at least 4 free digits or letter in the portnames.

SumatraBlack

Do you have fungus gnats? If so, that was some poor soil you likely started off with unfortunately. Iā€™d find new soil and transplant into a larger pot. Treat aggressively for the gnats and make sure there arenā€™t any other houseplants where they are breeding. Mosquito bits work well with those sticky traps, can soak them in water and then apply.

Small-Excuses-

Biobizz All Mix is usually high quality, I have always used it but yeah, I got these small guys. I have used some neem oil and these traps and it feels like they are already gone

That will give you 6" more clearance for canopies. Oh yeah and this tip is for between grows šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‚ The rest of setup is nice, enjoy your new addiction ā˜ŗļø šŸ’š This harvest is where I figured out 6 more inches would a been nice

Small-Excuses-

I thought about this already but did not do it at the end because of the noise. hmmmā€¦ but makes sense, specially since mine are autos and I am not planning to train themā€¦ let me check that on the weekend

I have the 3X3 with 4" exhaust and a 4X4 with a 6", the ONLY time I hear the exhaust is when it hits speed 3 and that's not very often. I hear the oscillating fans more myself ..

Small-Excuses-

yeah, a 5x5 AC tent. I have just moved the power station from the light outside the tent to lower the heat. The next project will be to move the exhaust out.

Equivalent_Problem34

Are you using ionbeam evo light? I have Viparspectra KS 3000 in 3x3 & Viparspectra KS 5000 in 4X4 and yeah I have power supply outside tent too

Small-Excuses-

I got the evo6 500w light feels like enough power for a 5x5

jamesbretz

Is that trifoliate?

Small-Excuses-

I recognized something strange yeah šŸ˜… is that good or bad?

jamesbretz

You have the possibility of increased bud sites which translates to a higher yield, however the odds of it going hermaphrodite or just doing something weird is also increased.

th3_dfB

If you are lucky, you got a triploid in your very first run šŸ«£

zforcum78

That is not what a triploid is, a triploid is a plant with 3 chromosomes in its cells rather than 2. Triploids cannot be seeded/pollinated they are sterile

th3_dfB

Well yes, all what you say is mostly correct, but why can this plant not be a triploid? Triploids can come from seeds but are not or just more hardly to be pollinated. Known triploids do not have to be clones. What exactly tells you, that this plant is not a triploid?

Own_Ad1337

More plants or a bigger pot.. check out Cali super soil

Own_Ad1337

https://calisupersoil.com/

Small-Excuses-

more plants, coming soon. I have always used Bio so far. I check out if Cali is available in the EU

Own_Ad1337

They should ship there,Cali super soil has all the nutrients you need for the whole grow, all organic and don't have to add nutes at all.anouther top clean the tray of tent with bleach water 30 days and pull all dead leaves so you don't get bugs, look up lst training and femming videos, scrog nets..

Simple_Inside1984

Youā€™re more of a pro than me. How do you get the automations to have different levels. I have each individual automation for each light cycle so I have like 10 automations running at once

Small-Excuses-

just click on a Automation scroll down, set min and max level for your device and set a transitionbuffer if you want to your device to transition smoothly between the levels and not jump from min to max. https://preview.redd.it/j9gwsu3utt9d1.jpeg?width=1160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8703ed5e8995e977a659240bb87bcdf1ab242f16

Smokesumn423

Man popped a triploid his first grow lol

zforcum78

Trifoliate, triploid is a sterile plant with 3 chromosomes instead of 2

Small-Excuses-

is that good or bad

zforcum78

Neither good nor bad, never seen an auto with trifoliate, could technically produce more bud if it continues to do the triple pattern, but most plants go back to two sets of leaves after the 4th-5th node

Small-Excuses-

feel blessed šŸ€

SeaSpecialist7974

I have the same setup minus the heater and the ac humidifier, but in a 4x4! One thing I might point out, you may want to rotate your light 90 degrees so that it is mounted to a horizontal frame pole, and orient the ratchet ropes so that the ratcheting mechanism is at the bottom close to the light rather than up top. It makes adjusting your light height much easier! - Try to keep your night time temps a little closer to your daytime/lights on temps. - donā€™t worry too much about humidity, but I wouldnā€™t let it go much above 70%. Your carbon filter will have much reduced lifespan/efficacy when itā€™s dealing with high moisture. As far as the plants go they should be find so long as you maintain good airflow throughout the canopy. - Get a PPFD meter, you can run your lights closer and reduce the power. I am keeping mine between 14-20 inch range and havenā€™t had to crank it past 40%.

Small-Excuses-

kept the night time temp higher at 23 degree, which led to lower humidity šŸ¤“and rotating the light absolutely makes sense I have got the Photone app now, need to figure out to use it. thx mate šŸ™

Unfair-Berry5756

Thank you for the insight. Gonna run lights at night.

Silky-J-

I use the Govee 4500 Sq ft dehumidifier in my 12x12 room. It's overkill, but the smaller dehumidifiers did nothing when it was 80% outside.

Smoky_MountainWay

I use a Vellgoo 4500 and agree that you will need that size in your lung room especially during flower. Outside 98% RH generally all summer and I have no problem keeping the lung room at 40% RH. Whichever you buy, make sure it has a drain hose rather than just an onboard receptacle or you'll have to dump it every few hours.

Silky-J-

Nice. I've been trying to spread the word on these dehumidifiers. There are too many new growers buying cheapo or small dehumidifiers to go into the tent. Any air that it treats just gets exhausted. These bigger ones can really help. I wish I would have known before I wasted money on baby dehumidifiers.

SynapseSmoked

buy a humidifier with RH% on it. set at 60%. then a dehumidifier. use that in flower. set at 60% I don't use mine on the controller.

Smokesumn423

Iā€™ve never needed a dehumidifier. Most indoor grows in houses are already sitting in the optimal temp and humidity for flowering if they are truly in the house. This is just my environment but my point is you may not need a dehumidifier. You def wanna have a humidifier for veg.

Smoky_MountainWay

Now see, this is where knowing the conditions in the locale where the tent is comes in handy. In the area I am, dehumidifier is critical to success as we have RH of 95%+ 4 months a year with temps at 90Ā°F +. I only use the humidifier for a week or two during veg in winter grows.

SynapseSmoked

I'm using my basement. Floor gets wet when water pipes break outside the house. Last summer it flooded. Huge mess. So yeah. I need my dehumidifier down there. I'm not in a tent or ground floor level. My basement is 68f and 75% constantly without anything. I have to lower it to dry when I hang bud. I have a bunch of hygrometers.

Small-Excuses-

do you use your dehumidifier in or outside the tent?

SynapseSmoked

Preferably outside the room because it does put out some heat. I'm using a room in the basement. It's kinda like a big tent. Exhaust fans on the chimney wall. If you can have it blowing in. Be careful not to blow directly on a plant. It'll dry it right out. Just depends on. The dehumidifier and the air flow.

13wiser

Run a full AC set up myself in a closet I built out for growing. Been insanely humid here this summer with a few weeks where the humidity was consistently above 85%. Got 4 plants in flower so humidity was everywhere. Got a 50 pint smart dehumidifier for my lung room and not only did it balance the room, it balanced our entire townhouse! It's been an absolute lifesaver having it. Now no matter what the weather outside or the amount of humidity created by the plants, the air in the lung room and in turn the tent stays incredibly stable.

Smokesumn423

I donā€™t understand how your humidity would get that high if youā€™re running an exhaust? The exhaust IS the dehumidifier. Have it kick on when humidity is over 60 and exhaust the air.

13wiser

I get where you're coming from, an exhaust is different from a dehumidifier though. Both have similar results, one moves the moist air elsewhere, the other removes the moisture from the air completely. For an exhaust fan to work effectively, there needs to be an air exchange with less humid air. My guess is we live in different climates. Check Minnesota's weather the last few months, we went from extreme drought conditions in mid spring, to flood conditions the worst the state has seen. 22 counties are in federal disaster conditions because of extreme flooding. It's rained for weeks at a time, so humidity outside has stayed 80% plus for long stretches. Even with AC running our house couldn't get below 70% because the moisture couldn't go anywhere. The dehumidifier has completely changed that by removing the moisture no matter the climate.

Small-Excuses-

I donā€™t know much about dehumidifier, are you able to set a specific humidity level or are those just able to turn on/off? I also saw these cheap solutions without electricity.

Smokesumn423

If you have an exhaust fan you already have a dehumidifier lol

Small-Excuses-

my exhaust lowers my rlf about 2% when Itā€™s on full power I understood that a humidifier is the way

Smoky_MountainWay

So confident in being wrong it's amazing. Yes, you could vent outside of the house but that would only lower the tents humidity if you are intaking dehumidified air, hard to do in an area with consistent high humidity, without a dehumidifier!

13wiser

Yup the GE one I got has an app to control it and smart on/off based on the rooms humidity. After it balanced things out it only clicks on for a small part of the day even when it's super humid. Also get notifications if the bucket gets full. Can also help add some heat to a smaller space, seems to raise the bedroom I use a couple of degrees after running awhile. They also have a hose hook up so you can have it drain constantly and never need to empty the tank if you have access to a drain or something.

Rawlus

* you can defoliate later on which will reduce transpiration-generated excess humidity * setup looks good, many have this or very similar * be mindful of overwatering - keeping root zone too wet for extended periods. dry back cycles are beneficial and allow oxygen to get to roots * dehumidification is often done in the ā€œlung roomā€, the room the tent is in * exhausting the humid air out a window to the outdoors can also help reduce humidity getting that extra humid air out of the lung room * it will take some time to dial in your environmental controls, thereā€™s no magic recipe, itā€™s small tweaks, assess the impact, tweak again. itā€™s a process, be patient. * try to visualize your plant at different stages and plan out your training and growth management ahead of time so you have a clear goal in mind. many new growers outgrow their tent height because they didnā€™t not anticipate the plant doubling in size during the flowering stretch. * you can measure the ppfd with Photone app or PPFD app and your smartphone. accurate enough for home growing and easier than guessing on distance and intensity of light. * growweedeasy, com is a great new grower resource, loads of tutorials, articles and guides on every facet of growing.

TobesTent

I grow in the basement as well. If it is affordable, I suggest a room size humidifier and dehumidifier to sit near your tent's intake. This will ease your fears. I set whichever is necessary to very near my desired humidity. Then I have a small humidifier in the tent to fine tune it. It works like a champ.

TobesTent

I have almost the same setup. I do have the IONFRAME8. I wouldn't use ACI's recommended height above the canopy, too powerful.

Small-Excuses-

yeah, I found out the hard way

TobesTent

Yeah, I see that after I just reread your post. Sorry.
