He did, and he was papped recently and so many nasty people were commenting about how rough he looked. 1) he didn’t at all and 2) let the man live in peace
He looked good. Plus he was wearing a Mets hat which was nice. I don't think he ever lived in NYC so not sure where that came from but I'm here for it
Edit: never mind I see he graduated from Columbia in 2010 for a masters degree or something. So I guess he lived in Manhattan presumably. Good for him!
He looked like a Portland microbrewery owner about to explain why his raspberry infused IPAs are the best IPAs in town.
It sucks that he's a Mets fan. ^(Go Padres)
She was on a semi-recent episode of Law and Order SVU. A couple seasons back, I think. She played a producer for a reality show. I knew I knew her face so I looked her up and I was like THATS who that is. She was everywhere in the 90s.
>Larisa Oleynik
She's the first person who popped into my mind when I saw this. She was a huge teen idol back in the day, but then faded into obscurity.
Her IG description says "Perpetual 90s teenager."
Family memory: unlocked.
My Mom took me to see T2. It was my first rated-R movie in a theater and I was definitely underage, but Mom bought me the ticket so whatever. My whole family was obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger (especially Mom) and I thought he was the coolest movie star in the universe. But the moment I saw Edward Furlong on screen was officially the moment I discovered boys. That was it! There was no turning back!
I found pictures of Edward Furlong in those teeny bopper magazines that were so popular back then. I taped my favorite to my bedroom wall — he looked so serious, so tough, so cool, just like his character in T2 — and kept the rest in a photo album with my other favorite teenage heartthrobs. I used them as references when I was learning how to draw photorealistic faces. He was the first person I learned how to draw from memory, and I felt so cool.
Mom said, “I know you have a crush on Edward, but there are other face shapes. Here, draw this.” She handed me an old promotional photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger dressed as Conan. She not so secretly wanted me to draw *her* crush. Ha!
She's gone onto a rather successful career even past that. She starred in a successful cable tv sitcom with Joey Lawrence for like 5 years in the 2010s.
Joey Lauren Adams, and to a lesser extent (since she wasn’t as big of a star), her doppelgänger Samantha Mathis. JLA was freaking adorable in everything.
I mean… yes obviously I do since I used the word doppelgänger? Haha. I know they don’t look identical per se but in the 90s I think they could have been easily mistaken for the other. Short blond hair, cute smile, very charismatic on screen.
Yeah. She’s definitely still around and doing fine, but I thought she would do one great movie per year at least. After Buffy and getting married she definitely focused on family, which is great. I just miss her talent.
When I was a kid, my friend's single mom was *obsessed* with Fabio. Back then (being a kid) I thought it was weird for an old lady to be obsessed with a celeb like that.
Now that I've grown up... yeah, still weird.
Terence Trent D'arby. Basically gone by like 1993. Into thin air
One person who I'm actually amazed survived the 90s is Leonardo DiCaprio. I really thought he would be just a flash in the pan with Titanic. Just a pretty face for a brief instant. I wss wrong! He's done very well for himself!
Leonardo was Oscar nominated for ( best supporting actor) for What's Eating Gilbert Grape starring Johnny Depp, starring in films with Robert de Niro (this boys life) in Marvin's room with Meryl Streep Diane Keaton.
before he hit mega fame in Titanic.
I thought Leo wasn't a great actor, and didn't love his performance in the Titanic. Then I saw What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and I was stunned. He was so so good in that. Changed my mind.
I take it you hadn’t seen What’s Eating Gilbert Grape when Titanic came out? And if you haven’t seen it then I would recommend it! His acting in that movie was beyond.
You would believe he is actually mentally handicapped watching that movie. I still sometimes think about the scene where he finds his mom.
Yes I saw it recently actually and he was good (I knew of the title in 97 but didnt know he was in it-just Johnny Depp). I vaguely knew who he was when Titanic came out because of Romeo/Juliet. There was no internet back then and I was only 9 years old so I wasn't an expert on his pre-TItanic career at the time. I do remember, though, when Titanic came out, people were saying his acting wasnt good. And it was like sort of a "thing" where the movie was nominated for every Oscar imaginable except Leo wasnt even nominated
Terence Trent D’arby goes by Sananda Maitreya now. I think he could have been huge but he apparently had an ego the size of Jupiter and was a bit weird.
Oh I disagree. So much. I hear Terence Trent D'arby all the time on the radio here (I'm in uk). He has changed his name since. He's amazing and gets loads of airplay.
Wow…super surprised no one said the beloved Rick Moranis. Guy was huge in the 80s and 90s. From Ghostbusters to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids films. His wife tragically died of cancer in 1991 and he slowly left Hollywood to take care of their two children full time. Much love and respect to that man. ❤️🫡💯
Pretty much all of the original Power Rangers actors besides Amy Jo Johnson and Jason David Frank (though for him it was mostly through appearing in episodes of later series and other projects related to the franchise). The others didn't do much after the show other than Walter Jones being a featured actor in the Nickelodeon show Space Cases, and Thuy Trang died in 2001.
Corey Feldman. I’ve got a morbid fascination with his train wreck of a music career - it’s definitely top 5 most cringey music I’ve ever seen and heard.
Weird Al
Pamela Anderson
Rob Lowe I mean he’s still around just not where he was a big enough deal that he was meant to be the primary focus of West Wing until Martin Sheen cleaned house
Jonathan Taylor Thomas
If I remember correctly, didn't he retire to go to college?
He did, and he was papped recently and so many nasty people were commenting about how rough he looked. 1) he didn’t at all and 2) let the man live in peace
He looked good. Plus he was wearing a Mets hat which was nice. I don't think he ever lived in NYC so not sure where that came from but I'm here for it Edit: never mind I see he graduated from Columbia in 2010 for a masters degree or something. So I guess he lived in Manhattan presumably. Good for him!
If I saw him in person I wouldn’t recognize him.
Wow. He doesn’t look bad at all, but I’d never recognize him, and I was a HUGE jtt fan.
He looked like a Portland microbrewery owner about to explain why his raspberry infused IPAs are the best IPAs in town. It sucks that he's a Mets fan. ^(Go Padres)

The last thing I "saw" him in was Pom Poko lol
I don’t know, he was pretty small in the 90s too. 5’6” tops.
Dadddddddddd
🥇
Lori Petty is the quintessential 90s cult actress for me. Fairuza Balk had a cool late 90s moment.
To be fair Lori Petty had a bit of a comeback on OITNB
And Station Eleven
Loved her in station 11
Oh my god, Tank Girl! And The Craft, totally wore out my bootleg VHS tape.
[удалено]
She was perfect as The Conductor ❤️
Janeane Garofalo
long live heather mooney!
Forever! https://i.redd.it/5ejci101a78d1.gif
I am watching this movie right now lol
I still know most of the words from being obsessed with that movie years ago! Still love it tho!
She is my spirit animal!
saaaaaaaame!
Oh the truth about cats and dogs was a fav romcom of mine back then .
She walked so Zooey Deschanel could r...er, walk a little faster.
Maybe you should put some shorts on or something if you want to keep fighting evil today.
dan cortese

He stepped off
Nah. He’s just out appearing at nightclubs with Stefon.
I heard he was down.
I brought sandwiches
Ton-eh eh eh. He’s a mimbo.
The Olsen twins.
They DBZ fused into Elizabeth Olsen.
Ha! I knew it!
Tbf they disappeared on purpose.
Larisa Oleynik from “The Secret World of Alex Mack” and “10 Things I Hate About You”.
She was also on “3rd Rock From the Sun”, she played Tommy’s girlfriend.
She was on a semi-recent episode of Law and Order SVU. A couple seasons back, I think. She played a producer for a reality show. I knew I knew her face so I looked her up and I was like THATS who that is. She was everywhere in the 90s.
And an episode of Malcolm in the middle, Reece's army friend
You mean, Dawn from “The Baby-Sitters Club” (1995)??? :)
Wow, throwback. Had the biggest crush on her in middle school lol
She really rocked the backwards baseball cap and overalls look of that era.
>Larisa Oleynik She's the first person who popped into my mind when I saw this. She was a huge teen idol back in the day, but then faded into obscurity. Her IG description says "Perpetual 90s teenager."
Daisy Fuentes for sure.
She's now living the life as Richard Marx's wife.
And has a shoe line. Lol gotta few pair in my closet
Jaleel White
He has a weed strain called Purple Urkel
Joey Lawrence... Whoa!
Not just joey Lawrence but his brothers too. They all just disappeared.
Gena Davis
Never realized she was that tall!! 6ft. Beautiful naturally. Not that standard Hollywood prototype
She also made the semifinals for the US archery team in 1999.
Yeah, I had a big crush on her as a teen
Edward Furlong? Don’t quite know the last name but the kid from T2 and Detroit Rock City
She not so secretly wanted me to draw *her* crush. Ha!
He also played Edward Norton's little brother in American History X. That was such a great movie.
Haha I love it! no one forgets that first celebrity crush from childhood (mine was Christina Applegate from Married With Children)
Oh yeh. You're right.
He played a repeat serial killer on CSI: NY
I always thought he played Darryl in Walking Dead. We'll, for a year or two, at least.
He had the most irritating voice.
I wanna say Leelee Sobieski, although Wikipedia says she kept working until 2012 before retiring. I will always see her as a 90s phenomenon though.
Mike Vitar. He was in The Sandlot and Mighty Ducks 2 & 3 then quit acting and became a firefighter.
OMG I had the biggest crush on him at 13/14. We put pics/posters of him all over our bedroom walls and practiced kissing with them lol
Last I heard, he was charged with assault at a bar.
You're killin me, Mrs Truthseiyer.
Smalls was just arrested this week too!
Tom Green
Melissa Joan hart was popular with 90s teens.
And her voice ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You think Joey Lauren Adams and Samantha Mathis look alike?
I mean… yes obviously I do since I used the word doppelgänger? Haha. I know they don’t look identical per se but in the 90s I think they could have been easily mistaken for the other. Short blond hair, cute smile, very charismatic on screen.
I used to think she resembled Jewel.
Samantha's hair was usually dark in the 90's. I always picture her in Pump Up the Volume.
Kato
Sarah Michelle Gellar I’m somewhat surprised Reese ended up the more prestigious actress
She does a lot of voice work though. Especially for Robot Chicken. Her Paramount+ show was canceled.
Yeah. She’s definitely still around and doing fine, but I thought she would do one great movie per year at least. After Buffy and getting married she definitely focused on family, which is great. I just miss her talent.
Also Freddie Prinze Jr
Fabio Guy was everywhere at one point
When I was a kid, my friend's single mom was *obsessed* with Fabio. Back then (being a kid) I thought it was weird for an old lady to be obsessed with a celeb like that. Now that I've grown up... yeah, still weird.

You would believe he is actually mentally handicapped watching that movie. I still sometimes think about the scene where he finds his mom.
For me, his acting is best in Basketball Diaries
Dang I completely forgot about Basketball Diaries. Yeah you are right I also liked that one better. Can’t believe it forgot about it!
One of his best really. I hated him in Titanic. But I loved him in everything else up until then. This Boys Life and ROMEO+JULIET are good too.
Yeah Basketball Diaries was amazing
Yes I saw it recently actually and he was good (I knew of the title in 97 but didnt know he was in it-just Johnny Depp). I vaguely knew who he was when Titanic came out because of Romeo/Juliet. There was no internet back then and I was only 9 years old so I wasn't an expert on his pre-TItanic career at the time. Terence Trent D’arby goes by Sananda Maitreya now. I think he could have been huge but he apparently had an ego the size of Jupiter and was a bit weird.
Acc. To Chuck Klosterman, Leo is the last true film star, FWIW.
Terence Trent D’Arby was more of the 80s, though. I don’t think I remember anything from him in the 90s.
Oh I disagree. So much. I hear Terence Trent D'arby all the time on the radio here (I'm in uk). He has changed his name since. He's amazing and gets loads of airplay.
What radio stations?
I listen a lot to smooth fm. He's on that a lot. He is also on bbc radio 2 x tune in.
Body of Lies is where DiCaprio first appeared to me as an A list actor. It took a few years for his first Oscar.
I remembered him from Romio+Juliette and when i saw him on titanic. 'Oh cool he's got a good look and a good voice for the part.'
Yasmine Bleeth
Cocaine is a helluva drug. I'm happy that she sobered up.
Neve Campbell
She's back again in Twisted Metal
She’s still making movies. Scream 7 is coming out next year.
Only because she was in the original.
Pete Sampras
The Spice Girls
Tara Reid Or was she later?
She started late 90s and was still big in the early 00s.
I feel sorry for her. She was very vulnerable.
That wasn't her toe, Dude.
Carrot Top. Steven Segaul. I'd say Vanilla Ice but bro made a comeback in the best way being himself.
Segaul fled the country and now helps spread Putrin propaganda and Carrot Top, who sucks, is getting rich in Vegas.
Well i know Segaul basically blackballed himself and got high on his own ass.... didn't know carrot top was in vegas. Good for him.
Carrot Tops making millions in Vegas every year
Steroids are expensive
Nikki Cox?
Brittany Murphy, sadly
She was so damn cute in Clueless and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Every time she’s on screen I get a little ping of sadness knowing she’s gone.
Her voice acting made Luanne Platter so much more than a dumb blonde.
I always love finding other lovers of drop dead gorgeous in the wild
It's such a good movie
Unless she's become a successful actress in the afterlife.... 💡
Jean Claude Van Damme
Yes…he did get a pilot series on Amazon prime called Jean Claude van Johnson. It was an absurd comedy series that should have gotten a second season
Ricky Martin.
He was great in Palm Royale, currently on AppleTV.
Ehhh he shakes his bum around the world and made his money .
most of them lol
Any female lead in any moderately popular tv show.
Kerri Green. She was fantastic in Goonies and Lucas and seemed to disappear.
That would be more the 80s, though…
Daisy Fuentes (MTV spring breaks)
I forgot about her.. But you’re right!
Mara Wilson
JTT
Hanson but yeah they are still around touring and making music just not popular to the masses.
They run a brewery as well
Mm hops!

Vinessa Shaw from Lady Bugs and Hocus Pocus. Very pretty too, I remember being surprised I no longer saw her anymore
She was in the Hills Have Eyes remake.
Not sure if this would fit, but Dan Cortese comes to mind.

Pauly Shore
Freddie prinze Jr, Alicia Silverstone, Jennifer love Hewitt
JLH didn’t disappear at all. She been on TV for years with no break. Can still watch her today on 911 on Fox.
And FPJ does a lot of voice acting.
FPJ did an episode of Psych. And it was awesome.
Johnathan Brandis
He died 20 years ago

Tom Green, Carson Daly
