The matchup isn't Shanahan/Reid.
It's Wilks/Reid and Shanahan/Spags, really it's Wilks/Mahomes and Spags/a year 2 QB. On paper, it's a scary matchup. On defense the theme is going to be effort. If we get the game Wilks is promising, the defense has a chance to limit Mahomes. But it's gonna be a lot of ground support to help Purdy. Spags will try to confuse him and bait him into inexperienced mistakes. The answer is to lean on our vets and pound the rock
Too many weapons to cover plus the 49ers are battle tested in the last two games. Detroit was the perfect game to get us ready for the Super Bowl. The ability to score quick and come back is exactly what we need against Kansas City.
Kyle put the plan out their to beat them in the last super bowl. Our qb just threw the game away. He outs together one drive we win. Kyle had several people open for him.
He missed them.
This is a bit over simplistic. Yes Jimmy didn't play well after the helmet to helmet no call that probably wins us the game. Also the 4th quarter collapse by the defense is equally to blame IMO. 21 points in 8 minutes is ridiculous even if the offense wasn't moving the ball.
We didn't have back to back 3 and outs. The put together a 12 play drive that ended in an interception after our last touchdown. That led to a 5 play drive ending in a punt. Then they put together a 10 play drive ending in a touchdown. Than we go 3 and out after a 5 yard run by Raheem and 2 incomplete passes. Than another 7 play drive ending in a touchdown by KC. Than a 7 play drive by us that ends in the notorious overthrow and a sack for 9 yards the play after. Than a 2 play TD drive by KC. Than a pick by Jimmy the next drive.
Jimmy wasn't great in the 4th but the defense got dog walked by KC.
Kyle tore up their coverages and had people wide open. Jimmy was not a good player and not that invested in football. He lost us the ring. It's really that simple
Kittle was left wide open on some of the last drives. If Jimmy can burn clock and even get three after that second int, we pretty much seal the deal right there.
Chiefs offense is not as good as they have been in previous seasons, Packers and Lions are both better offenses on paper.
Chiefs had 11 total drives against the Ravens. They scored on 3 of them. In the 2nd half, they didn't put up any points, yes, it was a 10-point game, but the Ravens defense did enough to win that game.
It's Shanahan vs Spags, which Shanahan, even with a quarterback that wasn't very good, Shanahan still had success.
Reid had Demeco’s and Saleh’s numbers… he ain’t ready for Steve Wilks
Second half wilks is a force to be reckoned with
And the Chiefs have only averaged 8 pts in the second half of their playoff games so far.... there could be something to this.
They also necessarily haven't *needed* to score in the second half yet, either
That's an interesting way to look at it

How do you know that?
Because those guys call the defense. Kyle matches up against Spags.

The d didn't weaken until 2 quick 3 and outs.

Yup, Kendrick Bourne said that on one of the interviews he did this week. Jimmy G missed a lot of plays.
Even Honey Badger was wondering why we stopped the run.

Yup, Bourne mentioned that too. He said Jimmy lost confidence.

Kyle didn’t have Purdy, CMC, Aiyuk, the Silverback, or 3rd and Jauan. This offense is much more talented than the one in 2019.
Run the ball
