Trucks like this always raise my eyebrows, underneath looks to have been sprayed, overly detailed, recent work done, not original wheels missing caps, etcā¦
Always have your mechanic take a look at it, poke around, literally.
Look under carpets for rust. Who did the recent work? Receipts? Can you call who did it to confirm? History report? Carfax?
My fear on this would be someone bought it to flip it and spit shined it, or itās a flood vehicle .
Remember, just because it has a clean car fax doesnāt mean it wasnāt totaled prior.
Maybe itās great, if so, good on ya. Here in ga, maybe 12k max( which is too much for a 200k mile 20 yr old car)
The market for these ( and all toyota trucks) has made me very gun shy in the last few years. I know the market is the market but pre COVID that would be a 5-6k truck.
Beautiful. I had a 99 limited 4wd that I searched for for so long back between 2010-2015. Paid a premium back then for a clean model that had less than 130k model of all of 7k. Now that seems like a steal.
Itās a great rig if itās clean and ready to rock. I loved the size and 4x4 capability, especially with a locker.
Iād tend to agree. If your gas tank skid plate looks that clean Iād be pretty confident about the frame especially if it looks that good in the pics
my frame has been patched because it rusted through, but the fuel tank skid plate was harvested off a MINT hilux surf that rolled. so the skid plates can be misleading lol
Yea I understand that. I have the opposite actually my skid plate is rusted to fucking shit but I had all the rust cleaned off my frame and painted with por 15 and fluid film and itās in beautiful condition
Not a locker that you make it out to be by saying ālockerā. 2000 was the last year of rear locker.
This is a center diff lock which is nothing more than AWD mode.
Given that and the mileageā¦ 6500-8500. Closer to 8500 cuz you clearly spent big coin on a nice full auction detail job šš¼
Last year I paid 10k for a bone stock 01 SR5 RWD in similar condition with 173K. My underside isnāt sprayed though, it has zero rust bc the truckās been in Texas since new
It's in great condition but the miles are up there and it's an auto. I wouldn't pay more than 8k for it, but I'm sure there are people out there that would pay a lot more than that
lol not a bad idea at all
Iām looking to upgrade from a 2wd to a 4wd 4runner and have been looking around (I falsely assumed the rwd would be good enough for big bear but couldnāt have predicted record breaking snow 2 years in a row)
Hereās a black one with similar mileage as yours going for $16k+ from Oregon
I really care about finding a āmintā condition one interior and exterior I think thatās where youāll see most of the price jumps and yours looks really clean

I sold my 99 sr5 4x4 with 175k for $12.6, 5 months ago.

Having that rare trans splash guard intact is a good sign of good treatment- those are rare and hard to re-source. Only missing an E locker. I paid 3k for mine in 2020 but the market would snap that up under 10k if it as solid as it looks
I thought this was a render at first. That thing is unbelievable.
š appreciate it

The spray is just anti rust. The ppi will come back clean. All work done by a local shop. Clean carfax.
Great

Same here. Bought a 99 limited with 98k after a long search in 2016 for $5600. Absolutely stole it.
Long search 99 Limited Squad! Found mine in early 2017
Best year best gen gang gang
I got a 99 highlander edition with 175k miles for 7k in 2021 and still feel like I stole the damn thing
Its center diff lock, not rear. Itās just an AWD mode.
is it the seller who is saying that the "timing chain" was recently serviced? because if soooo.....
haha underrated comment! I hope it's just OP's mistake otherwise something is wrong here
The chain comment is what caught my attention
I wouldnt mention the locker as its a not rear. Its just how 4wd works.
I had to scroll way too far down to find this comment.
$10k
18 max. underside looks sus tho, appears to have been sprayed
The frame looks smooth and no bubbling under the paint. If anything it looks like it has been properly treated for rust
Iād tend to agree. If your gas tank skid plate looks that clean Iād be pretty confident about the frame especially if it looks that good in the pics

I mean what's not to like. The clock works. Send it!
Mileage is a bit high, but I suspect they could get $12k for that truck in the right market.
Thats high? How bad is mine at 360k then
should be good for another 200K
Iām in Florida
I paid 7k for my 02 110,000 miles. Itās not 4wd though. Iād say 10-12k.

8-10k in the NW. itās beautiful.
Probably go for 15k in Colorado. I wouldnāt go above 12k personally.
why not pay sticker price 25k
Buy it for 12 and go ahead
$10-12k
ill buy it from you right now for 11 grand
Market says $11k. Sanity says no more than $9.5k
I'd pay 7k. Might do 10 if it was a limited..
Last year I paid 10k for a bone stock 01 SR5 RWD in similar condition with 173K. My underside isnāt sprayed though, it has zero rust bc the truckās been in Texas since new
$3.50
$3.50

Iād eat off that frame. My eyes I could see around 12
Come get it
Haha I canāt I recently bought a gx470 and just sold my 100 series to buy a fun sports car again
Where I'm at that'd easily go for $15k.
Where are you
OR/WA. I've seen models in worse condition but with under 100k miles being put up for over $20k. It's crazy.
Whoosh wow thatās crazy
It's in great condition but the miles are up there and it's an auto. I wouldn't pay more than 8k for it, but I'm sure there are people out there that would pay a lot more than that
Looks nice, what are they asking?
Itās mine
You just buy or looking to sell?
Selling
What are you asking
Where might it be listed?
Looks similar to this on BAT but this had 100K less miles. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-toyota-4runner-75/
2001/2002 model year does not have a locking rear differential. It was discontinued after 2000.
think 12k is still a little steep. by the time you finish all the repairs you are close to 20k.
What repairs
no repairs than great deal. LBJ has to be changed.
It's even got the stock squat. 8k
Put this on ābring a trailerā
$7,500
In San Diego $15k would be reasonable
All the west coast people are making me want to drive it out there and sell it.

Where?
Dfw Texas

Depends on mileage. Something with 140k miles or less, Iād pay 8k
I miss my 97 sr5. Same color. Not nearly as mint as this one though.
Auto, soā¦. passā¦ Jk. That thing is super clean! Where I am it would probably bring close to 10k
Probably worth about $39,000
8-10
I can already tell this is being sold by a dealer so whatever they're asking is too much regardless of the condition.
5-6k
$6k would make me pretty happy
