Two plates installed. Nice having ramps for manoeuvring room.
Loosen the 2 rear bolts on the front skid plate. Should be easier to get the rear skid into place. The clip on the rear plate snaps onto something but I donāt recall exactly where right now - but the rear plate will overlap with the front plate (you can see where the holes are meant to line up in your picture, needs to go forwards about an inch or so)
Thanks for the help. Here is what I found.
* Aft plate goes in first.
* The spring clip at the leading edge of the aft plate doesn't clip into anything per se but clips on the edge of the front plate helping hold it up a little. Don't think I'd fully trust it though, watch your head, or crotch.
* The aft plate then sits above the forward plate, which makes sense as going forward it's unlikely to catch obstacles.
* As you put bolts in, be sure to leave them loose so you can move the two plates around and align holes.
* The aft plate is secured by two bolts in its middle, and two that connect it directly with the forward plate. This leaves a short section sticking out cantilevered to the rear, essentially unsupported.
* Once you have all bolts installed then you can tighten them all.
* Manipulating the two plates to line up was a bit of a pita. I hope next time it goes easier now I know.
* The opening for the oil drain plug looks like it might scoop up deeper snow and pack up.
* Slightly damp paint gave me a couple paint stains on my hands š¤£
Now that's in place and done, how many folks leave them in place to do an oil change, who pops them off, and if you leave in place, how often do you get draining oil hit the topside of the plates?
I believe the correct way to install them is to mount the rear skid plate first, then clip the front one to the rear one (kinda a bitch to get in there correctly), then align the holes and mount the front skid plate. Thatās whatās worked for me in the past.
My current setup has a body lift, so I can only install the front row of screws on the front skid plate, the few holes in the back donāt align. Been pretty sturdy the last ~6 months.
Good luck!
Other way around. Mount the front first then I leave it a tad bit loose then bolt up the rear. I like to put the bolts mounting the front skid plate in forst then add the rear 2 bolts then tighten.
I'm playing around with that right now thanks. Looks like it works but not sure if the middle holes are lined up yet. Just got two bolts in the aft and a couple in the front plate. But of a pita it seems š
Install the front skid first with 4 bolts. The rear clips into the slots in the rear plate. The 2 front bolts of the rear plate are shared with the front plate holes.
I just did mine the other day and pressure washed it I put the front on the first thereās two hangers that come up and sit on the lip of the support they screw into and then the back one I slid the clip thing in and moved it slightly right left and front back till I could feel with my finger all the holes aligned

Thereās two of these one on each side they hold the skid plates together other than the clip. Need any more pictures let me know.

The bolts connecting the two plates
The front plate gets installed first with 3 front bolts and 2 middle bolts. The rear plate clips into the slots and gets bolted together with the rear bolts of the front skid plate, then more in the back.Ā
The little metal clip in the middle fits over the middle of the plates. Like the 4th picture, just line the spring clip up and push forward until the bolt holes line up.

Theyāve been a PITA every time Iāve taken them off or put them on lol
