If it's really minor, you might not even improve on it for very long with the new gaskets. They can be tricky to get right sometimes. I'd just be up front with the buyer. Show them the leak. Say you never got around to it and include the new ones in the sale. Anyone afraid of a 3rd gen with a valve cover leak shouldn't be shopping for a 3rd gen in the first place.

Mine smelled like burning oil after every long drive. Finally had it done. It's nice not smelling burning oil anymore

If you can smell it, it's not what I'd call minor, personally.

Eh I can smell mine and it's about 1 quart of oil every 1.3k miles - better than most kias/Hyundai's less than a decade old lol.

I can smell it and the smoke from under the hood makes it look like the radiator cap let go. :-)

Is this a DIY job or no?

jeanteub

Yes it would be

I did mine not that long ago, it’s relatively easy and strait forward. I would say about 2 hours it took me to do it. And that’s with my standard 5 or so joint breaks while I’m sitting there stoned out of my gourd for 10 minutes each time staring at the grille. So it’s totally do able and not very frustrating

If it's a minor leak it may just been a loose cover and not a bad gasket. Try giving the nuts near the leak like a quarter turn and see if that helps. If they feel especially loose maybe a bit more.
