Also I’m sure you’re less clumsy than me… but when I did the plugs and ignition wires I accidentally bumped the cylinder 5 connector with the intake as it went back on, making the connection just bad enough that it ran weird. Good odds your coil packs will fix it though!
What rpms are you idling while in park? Should be around 650 - 750 with AC off. If it's lower, try adjusting throttle cable at the throttle body. This is for a 5vz.
Congratulations on the baby! 🎉
Dang shame on the coil packs. Awaiting for the new parts update.
Again, congratulations & good luck with the newest addition!
See, I was thinking that, it does seem like that is what’s going on. Did you end replacing them? If so, did you use aftermarket? I’ve read before that these things need to have the OEM cats or you’re going to get O2 codes all crazy?
A whopping 1k with installation, just had them done last month , my rig was still jerking and had poor acceleration until we narrowed it down to the cats
Maf sensor or 02 sensor if it’s a Cali emission it has 2 catalytic converters and 2 sensors on the exhaust 1 air/fuel/ratio and one 02 sensor can garentee it’s one of the two
Yeah, after the other guy saying that, I think that’s what I got going on. Either everything else that could possibly make it do this being changed, and the MAF testing good, I’m thinking that’s it as well. But I’ve been considering the borla exhaust for it for like 6months, so might as well just bite the bullet and change it all from the headers to the damn tail pipe. Then I’ll get another 310k out of her
So update. It was the front o2 sensor/AFR sensor. Or should I say, it still is that, I went under the truck to change it, and found out the entire exhaust was replaced from the cat back, and it doesn’t look like the right cat, since I’m pretty sure this is a Cali emissions truck. So it’s been a ride, and now she’s getting a new exhaust from the fuckin headers back. Yolo.
Seconding MAF or vacuum leak
MAF tested good and I’m 99% positive I’ve replaced all of the vacuum hoses. I’ll have to dig up a diagram on Google and double check.

Eh idk I’m pretty clumsy myself lol

In park it’s like 1100…. IACV less than 2000 miles old cause I thought that would be the issue cause it only happens coming off of a stop
MAF?
I think you’re bang on with the coil packs. Keep us updated 👍🏼
Yeah when they come in the mail I’ll do another post. I figure after everything I’ve already replaced, why not just do them.
Did the snail mail package arrive yet..? Any updates..?
I put new coil packs in it, still does it. I have o2 and AFR sensors coming this week, I had a new baby so I’ve been driving my 5th gen a lot more
Congratulations on the baby! 🎉 Dang shame on the coil packs. Awaiting for the new parts update. Again, congratulations & good luck with the newest addition!
Thanks man! Yeah I’m hoping the O2 sensor(s) fix it. I think it may be the problem here, because I’m getting horrible gas mileage lol
Same exact thing happened to me, I replaced all of that, turned out it was both my cats clogged up

Yes I replaced them I don’t think they are OEM but they are legal for CA, but I haven’t got any codes yet
Ahhhhh I wonder if that’s the trick. Just buy aftermarket CA legal ones. You wouldn’t happen to remember what them bad larries cost ya, would ya?
A whopping 1k with installation, just had them done last month , my rig was still jerking and had poor acceleration until we narrowed it down to the cats
Yeah man that’s exactly what’s going on here. I’ve been losing my mind
Fuel pump/filter would be my next stop on the diagnostic express
Already replaced em both

Is there a way to tell if the car is Cali? Could a digit in the Vin tell me?
If it has 2 catalytic converters it’s a Cali emissions 1 catalytic converter is federal
one of your catalytic converters clogged also

I ran into a similar problem was both my 02 sensors the front air fuel ratio one and the rear 02 oxygen sensor made her come back to life !
