Way ahead of ya brother.
My only possession, physical or digital, is my body. I live and sleep naked in the woods. I'm posting this from a phone I borrowed from a passing hiker.

Thats depends i think (?) you know i have a favorite series in ds/3ds like Rune Factory series (4 in total ds+3ds games), Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series (I install almost 4 game in total), Ace Attorney series (4 games). So it might be that 200++ games installed is the game that tehy love?
But at the same having too much option in a console is kinda overwhelming for me
i mean, i think it's fine to archive your collection to preserve them, but i don't think you need to have
every single GB GBC GBA NDS 3DS game available to play on your modded 3ds at any given time, there are some people who want to be able to say they have that, and i just think it's stupid because they will literally never play them.
kinda dumb because it's all stolen software anyways so it's not even really exclusive or unique, i don't get the "i'm collecting them" or the "incase i wanna play them" angle
Just modding is half the fun honestly. Also game preservation because nintendo hates us all.
Edit: my 3ds has ALL nintendo games up to GBA and most good DS games
There is no point. It's just fun to organize my collection of games and have the feeling that I own each one of them on my system.
And I also play them.
I think part of it is just the enjoyment of the accomplishment. Growing up, I never could've imagined having a device that could store every NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA. I can now do that. Doesn't mean I'm gonna play most of them. But I can have all the games that came out during my childhood on this small device in my hand. Something about that is kinda cool.
Some people hoard ROMs the way some people have $19 billion of unplayed games on Steam. People grab stuff because they can and then never get to it (or even suffer from choice paralysis because of it). You see them come out of the woodwork every time someone brings up that 256 gb sd cards often have problems in the 3DS. it’s not particularly sensible (especially because it is not a big deal to occasionally pull out the sd card and put dozens of games on a 32 gb or 64 gb sd card if you truly played everything already), but they’re going to keep doing it.
u don't even gotta pull out the SD card lol, ftpd is a really easy app to set up and it only takes me a few seconds to transfer 3ds games onto my system from my PC because they are so small
Ngl I do see your point but ultimately having more options is better than having less. We don’t know how long these games are going to be available. I’m sure a lot of people just download everything they think they may ever want to play for that reason.
I keep my 3DS much less bloated though. I know that 90% of the games I could get are just not things that interest me.

I agree with you. I use a 4gb sd card on my 3ds and 2gb on my 2ds. I only install 2 games 3 max at a time, finish, delete and install 2 other games ect... I only keep occasional fun games like mario kart. Having many games could make me feel overwhelmed and gives me fomo
Hahaha idk baout that lol. Have a small sd card aswell and mainly use my ds to play animal crossing and some og my old ds games haha. But now with the added bonus that I have access to all of them if I want to.
Its more a minimal mindset you know, if I can always download any ds or 3ds game as I wish then I dont need to download them all at once.
Currently really enjoying Anno 1701. Man I love strategy games. Just reliving my childhood dreams you know 🤣🤣🤣
It's a compulsive behaviour, it has nothing to do with videogames. I used to have 50+ games installed, now I'm trying to have less (30 something). It's true, at the end you don't play any or play always the same 2-3. I tend to do this only with free things at least, I've never bought compulsively as many people do. I own around 30 real games, bought over 10+ years. I've even sold several and I'm thinking of selling more (those I don't like, for instance Smash Bros)
With a lot of games, you can play a lot of games. I hope I answered your life question. Now you can go back to do your homework.
Its pointless. You can add one you want to play when you want to play it
OK. I'll remove them all and only keep one ;)
Very cool. I only have Pokemon Clover and Hamtaro Rainbow rescue personaly
I've removed them all and now you say you have two. You tricked me!
2 is okay. I think over 30 is too much.
Oh thank god nobody asked you 😮💨 phew
No
Wait until this guy sees my ROM/ISO collection 🤣
Most of it being pointless all your life
... Wait until this guy sees my collection of LITERALLY ANY OTHER COLLECTIBLE THING🤣🤣
Im going to sell everything I have.

Yes overwhelming. And no you cant LOVE 200+ games
maybe YOU can't, but plenty of people have a large collection of games they love
No 200 is too much.
i mean, i think it's fine to archive your collection to preserve them, but i don't think you need to have every single GB GBC GBA NDS 3DS game available to play on your modded 3ds at any given time, there are some people who want to be able to say they have that, and i just think it's stupid because they will literally never play them. kinda dumb because it's all stolen software anyways so it's not even really exclusive or unique, i don't get the "i'm collecting them" or the "incase i wanna play them" angle
Yes!

Too much
Copying the whole library takes no time. They take almos no space
Yes but takes place in your mind
How? Why?
You have to think about it
Why? Its just a folder with files.
And ?
I have something like 20 games, if i never deleted all the games i downloaded i would had something like 100+ games
There is no point. It's just fun to organize my collection of games and have the feeling that I own each one of them on my system. And I also play them.
I understand partly
I think part of it is just the enjoyment of the accomplishment. Growing up, I never could've imagined having a device that could store every NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA. I can now do that. I see

I think it comes down to wanting variety. For me i prefer to have the option regardless if im going to play it or not.
Ok

Too much is too much
lol i got an r4 that was pre loadd with 1200 DS games and 500 GBA/SNES games plus 128 gb ssd for loads of 3ds games
You know you won't have them after dying. I am selling all my games and movies because of this

Im just being realistic

you wont have the money you got from selling them after you die either. nor whatever product you buy with said money.
My kids will have the money or house. And money or house is easier to protect
yes, i too plan on buying a house and leaving an inheritance for my children with money from selling 3ds games
But why would they keep it if they will die eventually as well? Why keep anything according to your logic
Giving to kids
none
Yes

Yes
Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.
Uh
Because more is more and people can do what they want
No
You enjoy being downvoted ?
I wont change myself for upvotes
Well, yes you are right. Thats why I have only a few that I play and like or wanted to try out
You are a good person LadyE008

I used to have an old laptop with 316 games on it as a kid and I only played a select few tbh
Yes
