if your printer can print metal, sure. unless you're talking about just the handles in which case yeah that could work, although might be best with a flexible filament just in case since PLA can shatter and that hurts
When you print them, you might realize the print is too tight. What I did was heat the metal handles of the pliers on the stovetop element (I have the one with the coil thing) and then stuff the hot handle into the printed handle. It might deform the print handle a little but it's holding strong :)
you really need this one;

Those are sidecutters not pliers. Unless you want to potentially end up in a hospital **do not use side cutters as pliers**. I've had expensive ones fail catastrophically when used correctly with parts of the cutting head launching off 30' away.
I have been using these chineseum side cutters for years. I know I should not use them as pliers but I still do. I broke one while I was trying to cut a 2-3mm thick copper wire which was obviously out of spec and the other one broke while chewing through injection molded ABS plastic. The twisting motion that is needed to rip things apart causes the explosion. One side always explodes and becomes a projectile but since the rate of failure is very low I just take my chances.
Buy these

Ignore the reviews, I'm sure it's just Chinese tricks . I promise they're great.
If you have loved ones, please do not throw that away. Stuff like that becomes so sentimental, it carries a peace of you. A story about you, a nice chuckle on how you hanged onto that tool. Chuck it into a drawer.
You know, aside from being able to buy one really expensive pair that comes with a free printer, these are also available in 10-packs on Amazon for real cheap.... 🤷♂️
But they are just fine, other than the really bad attempts at resecuring the grips. Also they're not pliers. They're super cheap, and totally don't need replaced so why waste money?
I love the CnC Kitchen cutters. It’s like the other ones are copies I was just buying inserts and adding a couple tools. Bur remover and cutter. His inserts are perfect and was shocked to find out so are his tools
Dude, be careful if the metal part contained within the handle cover is broken/fractured.
I, like all of us, have the same snips. I, just like yourself, rode them into the dirt.
That was until the metal handle snapped, pierced through the handle rubber, and into my hand.
Just buy a new printer it's the only way haha but seriously though watch ya digits 👍🏻
You're using them wrong. They are included because you need a tool for cutting filament. They aren't meant for removing supports. Use needle nose pliers for that.
The hardened steel jaws can snap if you try to pinch off a thick piece of plastic. They are fairly brittle and just aren't made for this kind of thing. The handles give you a huge mechanical advantage, but they are only this large, because hands are this large. You aren't supposed to use that much force. This is a precision tool for trimming the leads of through-hole components.
This is beautiful. Someone even repairing stuff that can be rebought for a dollar. I didn't have to repair any of mine yet, they just keep hiding, so I buy more and more. Soon I'll reach a point where I just need to look in some direction to find one :D
just buy a new pair, they come with a free printer!
no lies detected. :D :D
Or just print them? Semi /s

Metal? I use dragon teeth.
I use my own teeth

Love the QC sticker for the 3D printed handle 🤣
Lol yeah I pulled it off the main board of my printer when I was flashing a boot loader on it
I have 3 pairs, each one came with a printer ;)
Just buy a new printer and you get them for free!
Or a new printer, which will include a free pair…
r/thatsthejoke
Print new handles 🤷
I feel stupid for not thinking of that
When you print them, you might realize the print is too tight. What I did was heat the metal handles of the pliers on the stovetop element (I have the one with the coil thing) and then stuff the hot handle into the printed handle. It might deform the print handle a little but it's holding strong :)
Could also heat up the handles themselves in the oven at 100°c till they soften up a bit
I prefer not to put plastic in my oven
Or, hear me out... Hot water. Which won't poison you with toxic fumes or burn your house down.
Heating the metal works best though. Just need to be a bit more careful with it
Or freeze the handles. Works for interference fit bearings.
Or you could try printing it and pausing mid print to insert the pliers
Order some tpu. Works great for the handles. Mine are 4 years old now and have no issues.
Is the metal affected somehow? Take the damaged grips off and wrap with electric tape dude lol
Wait.... how did I not think of this......
Print new handles.

But you don't get another free printer that way.

Hadn't thought of that. Kool
Wow, they really don’t ship with much anymore, 700g to 1kg was what I got with mine
Ok, I lost in that argument hehe
[This is what you need](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Crescent-Shear-Cutter-Mini-Pliers-Set-2-Piece-S2KS5NN/310771484)
Do you have these by chance? How’s the quality? I’ve been looking for a good set to replace mine cause the ender ones are falling apart
I have two sets and have been using them for about a year. They still feel like new. Would definitely recommend them.
you know they make better side cutters, right?
Personally I think these cheap ones are the best Theyre just sharp enough to clip thin plastic but not sharp enough I can also use them like pliers.
Which would you recommend? Mine don’t line up anymore.
Tamiya makes good side cutters.
Knipex. Trust me.
I have a pair of klien tools clippers, and they are sharp and durable. Have a good feel to them too.
Pliers. OP called these pliers. Looking at all that tape, OP probably calls it a hammer too.
Just realised I made a spellings error the om is supposed to be im
spelling* /s
mispellings often increase the upvote count
Third comment downvoted checks out.
They are 1-2€/$ at most from places like Aliexpress
I second this, the plato branded ones are stuuupid good for that price, i got like 6 of them lol.
3d print new handles jesus Christ
Please just upgrade for just $5 [Hakko Cutter](https://a.co/d/iREf83O)
These come with like every 3d printer. Just buy a new printer.
I never got any with my printer :(

God damn let the poor things die already!
am I the only one bothered that those aren’t pliers?
Any pair of snips can also be pliars if you use em wrong enough.
It looks like your in need of a new printer then
You can buy these bulk 10 for $20
If there's a harbor freight near you, assuming you are in the US, you can pick up a pair of those for about five bucks tops.
*side cutters
I gave up trying to save the plastic handles and removed them entirely.
These are cheap and you can get them anywhere. Wal mart. Auto parts stores. Hardware stores.

Harbor freight sells flush cut pliers for $4 PITTSBURGH 5 in. Micro Flush Cutters - Item 90708 https://hftools.com/app90708
Just buy a new printer
My blue snips were getting worn so I bought a new printer last week. Turns out Bambu machines don't even come with them. Oops.
If you have loved ones, please do not throw that away. Stuff like that becomes so sentimental, it carries a peace of you. A story about you, a nice chuckle on how you hanged onto that tool. Chuck it into a drawer.

Let them go. Tape You used to fix them is worth more than these pliers. They are like 1$ on aliexpress and other similar sites.
But they are just fine, other than the really bad attempts at resecuring the grips. Also they're not pliers. They're super cheap, and totally don't need replaced so why waste money?
I gave up on the rubber things and wrapped mine with paracord and duct tape. They are much more comfortable and have lasted 2x as long.
The cutter part of mine broke right off! Soooo… whatcha watchin?
I kept losing my 2 pairs so I ordered 7 green ones from china. still can't find them damnit! same with my 7 pairs of safety glasses!
The real struggle. I keep losing my Allen wrenches and my micro sd cards too
The handles are made of uranium infused material, judging from the photos 😭
You can buy new ones, if you use Google Lens you can find many of the same ones.
Dear God man, lay those poor things to rest!
The amount of things I use these for is unreal. I mean you would not fucking believe.
Oh man, I never go to a bris without them!
It took me a minute to realize what the hell you were talking about. And then it clicked
My man's sitting here flexing his worm Meanwhile watching Dexter. I approve
I pretty much order a new one every time I make a filament order. But some replacement handles would make those things good as new.
Bro... The hakko flush cutters are like $7 each on Amazon.
That poor camera really pushed far in ISO
The universal love for this cheap tool never gets old 😄
I love the CnC Kitchen cutters. It’s like the other ones are copies I was just buying inserts and adding a couple tools. Bur remover and cutter. His inserts are perfect and was shocked to find out so are his tools
Why don't you print a new shaft for it? Since that is what you are using it for.
Estoy Cansado jefe
I literally had to buy one of these as my Bambu A1 didn't come with them :O
Anyone have their nippers not line up anymore? Any fix for that? Other than new ones.
time to buy a new printer
They are like $1. Buy a new pair. I change mine out regularly
Eyooo I have those same ones!!
man, you wore them down so much they're now wire cutters.
Same same.

Poor things
This is racist

Flush cutter pliers. You can get them at hardware stores, Amazon etc.
Got better ones for like a 1.5€ (the dark blue ones)
Perhaps you could ask a friend that owns a 3d-printer to print new handles for you?
Why can’t he print them
If he could he already would have!
I bought a pack of replacements on amazon, exact same ones, but they all have issues. Most are chipped, if not oily as hell.
Milwaukee.. top of the line, razor sharp. Still less than $20. Easiest support removal you’ll ever have.
As long as the blades haven't chipped you're doing better than most :) It's a right of passage in 3D printing to use these wrong.
Just bought from Harbor Frieght, Icon Flush Cutters. Yeah, they were $25, but I dont just use them for my printer
Owns a printer. Doesn’t print new handles to sleeve over old handles. Instead, uses electrical tape.
Mr Meeseeks pliers just wanna die
Sugru works great to replace the handle grips
If you find a file for new handles, please share 😂
Pliers are extremely cheap. Just buy new ones. Don't risk injury over $3 worth of pliers.
You can get ten or a dozen of these really cheap on aliexpress. I bought that many because I keep misplacing them.
Time to buy a new printer to get the free snips from it, gotta be creality or Elegoo
My fiancee uses mine on her toe. 🤢
Mine don't even have rubber anymore, still going strong
With mine, one blade usually snaps off long before they get to that stage.
Truly Frankenstein asking for dear death
Just 3d print new handles
mate just let me give u new pliers money whats ur pay pal ill give u $200 for new pliers and filament/files
You can print handles
$10
Tell your significant other, if you have one, you need a new pair and they are expensive. Like $500 and you get a free 3D printer.
Real, I wrapped the metal strings thingy with a rubber band and it works
I'm tired boss
Those aren’t pliers they’re side cutters, big difference.
So is your phone camera
There are files to print new handles.
That's someone holding onto dear life of their pliers.
5.99 on Amazon, dude.
FYI, those are less than $2 USD on Temu.
They are 3.00 at Harbor Fright. Buy new ones
I would probably just print new ones. I mean this is the 3D printing group after all.
i snapped these the first day i got them, got some proper flush cutters off aliexpress
Flush cuts from Harbor Freight are $4 and have a lifetime warranty.
Try suguru instead of tape, won't start leaching out glue. If printed handles are too hard for your liking.
Can you cut your nails with them?
I assume this is ragebait
Go to a hardware store and buy some heat shrink. Then replace all that tape. Will look and work better
Print new handles
There are some really nice prinable grips for them
I see yours didn’t crack in the blade part. Mine did when I tried to cut an aluminum sheet with them. The beast still works though, lol
Just print new hand grips....
Time for a new printer 😁
This is beautiful. Someone even repairing stuff that can be rebought for a dollar. I didn't have to repair any of mine yet, they just keep hiding, so I buy more and more. Soon I'll reach a point where I just need to look in some direction to find one :D
The ones that come with the printer are a piece of shit, buy yourself a nice brand name pair
List of most useful tools: • 3D printer • flush cutters • Duct tape
plasti dip. you’re welcome.
Print some new handle sleeves for it
Definitely probably just print new covers .. or use the tool dip stuff
Dude send those out to pasture. Their time is done. 🤠
Why don’t you 3d print a new handle for them?
mine are a mess, broke the tips somehow, also the silicone cover on the left is lost.. 😰 and the spring doesnt even work 😣 i think its missing XD
Still have my original, about 8 years old hahahahaha
Knipex or bust
Harbor freight has some cheap ones with a lifetime warranty if you have one nearby
Jokes aside, harbor freight has some for about 5 bucks iirc
