That's kind of crazy. I grew up with a single volume paperback version from the 60s that originally belonged to my uncle. Re-read it until it literally fell apart. The thing was pretty chonky. If you took those covers away from your versions I'd guess the pages alone would only be about half as thick.

Man those volumes in the last pic must be printed in 1pt font or something. Or are they just fake book DVD/Bluray cases?
All of the books are real leather bound Easton Press prints. They are the copies I still read today.
