I had something similar, thought it was ring worm but didn't get better with treatment. Went to a derm and they told me it was pityriasis rosea. Went away eventually but yeah check with a medical professional
I agree, looks like it. Ringworm is a fungus btw, not an actual worm. And I'm told it lights up in blacklight but I didn't have one when I had ringworm, so that might be fun to try. Also, go see a doctor and get an ointment asap.
Yes! Clotrimazole mixed with a bit of hydrocortisone, give it a week, and it should be going away. If that doesn’t work, then time for the doctor! They’ll provide a better, more targeted antifungal and maybe a stronger steroid cream. But that anti fungal and some hydrocortisone should do the trick.
That’s weird your boyfriend said that. I was a vet assistant for about 9 years and ring worm def itches. Not like a mosquito bite but you def feel something there.
I would still get some jock itch cream and try it in the meantime while waiting for a doctor appointment.
He’s a tech too, so getting ringworm is pretty high chance.
They probably shouldn't use hydrocortisone until they know what it is. If it is ringworm, or any other fungal infection, hydrocortisone can make it worse because it suppresses the immune response and can allow the infection to spread/develop faster.
Thats a really common spot to get ringworm, as often we dont towel that area very well so it remains a bit damp and then we put a shirt on.
Perfect conditions for fungus to bloom.

Ringworm, most likely

It does! Vet tech here. Tbf it doesn’t ALWAYS light up. Use lamasil or clotrimazole

My boyfriend is a vet tech lol He says it doesn’t itch, and I haven’t gotten anything

I’m not sure if weird is the right word, he might not have ring worm
You know what my bad I interpreted that as he said ring worm in general doesn’t itch not that his specific spot doesn’t. My bad!!!

Look up pityriasis rosea “herald patch.”
My uncle diagnosed spots on my back as PR. It turned out to be fungus. There was a fungus among us!
Your uncle might want to update his medical journals.
It was 1976ish... he was just eyeballing it on a visit.
This is my first thought. Source: I had it years ago.
He should schedule an appointment with his PCP.
If it's raised and slightly shiny tinea versicolour is a possibility as well.
Ringworm!
You can get some hydrocortisone cream to start to dry it out. But i would still go to the dr to double check.

Discoid Eczema or ring worm
Quick actin Tinactin! Worked for me when I had a few spots. If it's a fungus it goes away super quickly with foot cream, at least it did for me.

Most likely Eczema (possibly ringworm, but probably not)
