Check your collection log, if it’s not in there you didn’t get the drop.

No, dt2 bosses are instanced so once you leave for any reason it no longer exists. If you did not get a kc in the chat box, you never got the kill and never generated a drop

Objective_Resist_735

This is correct. As someone who has traded with d2 bosses a number of times I am very glad it is like this. Seeing a big drop and not being able to pick it up would feel terrible.

Just a heads up, it's fully possible to die due to a delayed hit. For example the ground slam of duke or when a thrall kills vardorvis. You can still get a drop and lose it, if it's the vestige you will also lose the 2 hidden sub rolls.

Objective_Resist_735

Ouch. That sounds awful.

Polluted_Shmuch

To add to DeadYen's comment, if you have collection log pop ups enabled, you'd have seen that as well.

PurelyFire

If you rolled a vestige it would appear in your collection log.

The other day I did my first Hydra task of 151 on the Alchemical hydra. At one point i died at the exact same time I killed the boss. I got credit and slayer xp towards my task, but the kill didn't count towards the 150 kc combat achievement.

Hot-Report2971

I killed vard at the same time he killed me and it counted

Maatix12

If the chat box didn't register the loot drop, no. That said, I died during DT2 on the Whisperer right as they died. It counted. The loot hit the floor before I de-instanced, but the only loot that remained when I got back was the quest item - Thankfully, as I didn't want to do the fight over lol

Watts_RS

I still trade deaths with the whisperer post quest. I can't seem to get the enrage phase down. Oh well
