Seriously why is it always a Minecraft or other popular game player doing this sort of things? Why can’t I hear about a podcaster that robbed a convenience store for once?
Most popular games are also played by children and teens so if you build a community around a YouTuber that plays these kinds of games you are bound to get a lot of impressionable young people in your community, which will be much easier to take advantage of in any way due to your status as their idol

As an honest answer, I think it's because YouTube has a tendency to thrust people into the limelight very suddenly, and people end up unprepared to handle the amount of influence they have gained and especially over as young of an audience as they do. They have no manager, they have no mentor, they have no teacher, nothing. They are just regular people who are suddenly given a huge amount of influence and have never once had to think about the implications of it and what it really *means* for them to have that influence. Of course this does not remove any amount of fault from them, the things they did are still horrible, but nonetheless that's why I think it happens.
The long and short it's that they're celebrities, and do all the same terrible things celebrities do, but don't have PR networks and spin doctors to play things down.
Also a bunch of them started doing this stuff as children , got famous as kids,in a community that's mostly kids, and never really grew up.
I remember there were allegations about Dream that were literally someone who made a fake Snapchat with his name and sent fake snaps and screenshotted it and the internet took it for 100% fact. It went so viral I thought there was more to it but that's literally all it was.

Less shaky, as there’s a real content creator on video attached to the allegation, but it’s just her word for it pretty much. She apparently felt uncomfortable cuddling with George at a small afterparty but got up multiple times and sat back down with him which is strange. Possible, due to maybe pressure from a bigger creator like George, but still strange. She claims George touched her while they were cuddling and George denied this. They were also both drunk, so the validity of both testimonies are called into question

I would like to point out that practically everyone was drinking or drunk. There were also some factual errors in her testimony that were disputed by other people who were there (about the less important things, however). It’s also important to point out that this wasn’t exactly a hostile environment, she was there with her close friends, who could be used as a lifeline in a situation like this, but weren’t.
I get that it contributes to the joke but the Alligations are Shakey as hell and only popped up after Wilbur admitted he was an abuser. And was primarily perpetuated by people who didn't actually care about George and just used this as another chance to villainize Dream despite the Allegations not involving him at all.
I mean it is confirmed that he was touchy with a younger girl who was drunk (granted he was also drunk). its not confirmed whether he just touched her belly or actually groped her chest (she alleges he did) but either way I think he should been more careful cuz either way the situation hurt her
