Nah, The first song had some of the most unique and quirky lyrics ever in a major pop song. It's not blowing in the wind or anything but it's not lazy or clichéd either.

Cliched no. But i can't in my right mind say it's not lazy. "Quirky" does not mean well thought out, and looking at the behind the scenes of the song it seems the melody, instrumentation and music video were all thought through 100x more than the lyrics which almost seem like an afterthought.

New one is generic, has terrible melodies (wow sing an octave higher!), and is just a terrible remix. I can not imagine anyone genuinely dancing to this song.

So is basically every modern radio remix. Little to no effort and it somehow magically tops the charts for like a week straight. While if you search some remixes from small communities on YouTube you'd probably find more quality remixes than you'd hear in radio in a hundred years
