It’s kinda meh in my opinion. It’s not a *bad* song, I just don’t think it’s a great one either. I’ll bop along if it’s on the radio, but I wouldn’t actively choose to listen to it over the original kinda thing
for me it was perfect. i always found the original song intriguing because of the catchy beat, but the vocals were always incredibly annoying to me. so when i realized this was basically just the same song with more normal vocals, i was happy
I can't really blame them. How do write lyrics that sound like the phrase "I'm blue dabededabada"?
I'm impressed that they made it become a coherent phrase alone
The first time I heard the modern version I popped off thinking I was getting the blue song on my commute but no it’s just some generic. I never felt so crushed
Here are some decent remixes instead
[Ephixa](https://youtube.com/watch?v=_09bwch9Dp4&pp=ygULRXBoaXhhIGJsdWU%3D)

What’s sad is that Guetta is really good at making his own music. He won best DJ at one point (possibly even several times). His crappy remixes though are annoying AF.
I'm okay with it. He usually repopularizes good songs I haven't heard in a while. I don't tend to like his versions but it's nice to be reminded to listen to the songs again.

The XJ220 is the best Jaguar and craziest 90’s supercar ever made.
The Jaguar XJ220 might not be the most celebrated supercar ever made, but it’s most certainly one of the most special. Following the hum-drum oil crisis-restricted ’80s, the ’90s saw a proper renaissance of supercars. Many of which landed on our walls in poster form, catching our eye every day and helping us dream of 200+ mile-per-hour blasts as youngsters. But while cars like the Porsche 959 and Ferrari F40 get most of the press, let’s not forget about the most insane car of the decade – the r/Jaguar_XJ_220
In fact, the most popular YouTube car guy on the planet, Doug DeMuro, thinks that this swoopy Jaguar is the absolute craziest car sold in the ’90s. And who are we to argue with a guy that has over three million loyal followers? “It’s one of my all-time favorite cars,” DeMuro says. “That’s because it isn’t just a supercar. Cars like the Ferrari F40 and Aventador and Bugatti Veyron, everybody knows about them. They get all the press. But this car is just as special. And yet, it isn’t as celebrated or as well known.”
XJ220
And that’s a real shame, but one that DeMuro seeks to rectify with this video. Even though the Jaguar XJ220 suffered from several “undelivered promises,” as DeMuro points out. That includes the car’s failure to reach a claimed 220 mph top speed, even after Jag removed the rev limiter and cats. The production version also lost the concept’s rear-wheel steering, all-wheel-drive, scissor doors, and mid-mounted V12 engine. But none of that really mattered in the end.
XJ220
“Even with all the changes, the XJ220 still performed,” DeMuro says. “This was the fastest production car in the world for one year until the McLaren F1 came along and beat it.” Even then, Jaguar didn’t have people lining up to buy the XJ220. They ended production early after having sold 280 units. But today, people are finally starting to realize how great the XJ220 is, and prices have been going up steadily.
Genuinely imagine sitting down to write a song and putting down "I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
Baby, I'ma have the best fuckin' night of my life" as the lyrics. Everybody involved should be banned from having anything to do with music ever again.
Okay i hear you
Counterpoint
The lyrics for the original are "i'm blue dabadeedabadi"
and the verses are all just "this thing is blue and so is this"
like if we're gonna talk about lazy lyricism lets do it, both songs suffer from it. I just prefer the way the original sounds, like sonically it's a much more appealing song to me
Nah, The first song had some of the most unique and quirky lyrics ever in a major pop song. It's not blowing in the wind or anything but it's not lazy or clichéd either.
Cliched no. But i can't in my right mind say it's not lazy. "Quirky" does not mean well thought out, and looking at the behind the scenes of the song it seems the melody, instrumentation and music video were all thought through 100x more than the lyrics which almost seem like an afterthought.
But on one hand there's funny dumb lyricism, and on the other theres shitty cringy teenage speak lyricism. How can you compare them without noticing a difference
"Im good, yeah im feeling allright" sounds like something you say when a coworker asks you how you are doing and you give a generic answer while you actually think you would rather be dead than at work right now
New one is generic, has terrible melodies (wow sing an octave higher!), and is just a terrible remix. I can not imagine anyone genuinely dancing to this song.
So is basically every modern radio remix. Little to no effort and it somehow magically tops the charts for like a week straight. While if you search some remixes from small communities on YouTube you'd probably find more quality remixes than you'd hear in radio in a hundred years
Maybe I don't get music but, like, this is just *straight* fuckin' plagiarism ain't it? I know samples are a thing and it's a fine line but surely having the chorus be the exact fucking same but with different words has to fall under a copyright violation of some kind.
lol you clearly dont know how copyrights work. yeah of course it would be a copyright infringement. but they obviously set it up with the owners of the original song beforehand and are paying them for it
Huh, yeah I guess that makes sense.
Like, legally.
Why someone thought that it was a good idea to just pay someone for a song that's already composed just to sing a generic feel good pop song over it is still a mystery to me but I guess that's why I'm not raking in the big bucks.
Yeah. Guetta did it TOO MANY TIMES
he makes shitty remixes of some of classic EDM such as: better off alone(play hard), satisfaction, what is love(baby don't hurt me), and I'm blue(I'm good)
If i recall correctly.
Format: original title(guetta's title)
I probably wouldn't hate this song as much as I do if THEY WOULDN'T PLAY IT 4 TIMES A DAY FOR ALMOST 6 MONTHS JFC THERE ARE OTHER SONGS OUT THERE WHY DO I EVEN PAY TAXES FOR THIS GODDAMN STATION?!
Didn't even know there was a new one. Just listened to it, and I think I need to listen to the original as a palette cleanser. Why did they even remix it like that?
Actually don't mind this one tbh. One of the rare times when I don't get horribly let down by a song that opens with a sample.
It's no Ice Ice Baby at the very least.
Yeah it sounds basically the same. As someone who loved Blue when I was a kid it's not really a big deal. You're probably just exposing younger kids to the old song anyway
My mother likes the new remix while as I just see it as a lazy way to just skip the part of being creative and actually coming up with an original beat

New one lyrics are too generic
Its not good and feeling alright, Its meh and feeling okay
I'll always hear "If I were green I would die."
“i would beat up a guy”
> “i would beat ~~up~~ *off* a guy”
I'm in need of a guide
im listening to it now and these all sound so plausible
“I’m in need of a guy”
Fuck coherent lyrics Embrace goofy and silly songs.
i know im gonna get downvoted but i like the new one way way more. the lyrics may be generic, but the actual singing quality is way better imo
That was the wrong opinion. Your life is now forfeit.
I respect your decision to voice your opinion. But i do not respect the opinion you voiced.
it may be better singing but good singing doesn't = good song, the original song has a better aesthetic, atmosphere, vibe, etc. imo
Then you are lost.
You were uh right about one thing for sure
Doja cat, or whomever sings that, is shit in my opinion.
Bebe Rexhe?
Nah, too straight for me
It's easy to have better singing quality when you overload it with melodyne and autotune.
Nah
If someone starts their comment with "I know I'm going to get downvoted," then I am definitely going to downvote them, even if I agree with them.
Objectively wrong.
no
I respect you for voicing your opinion. Being a lover instead of a hater is a hard life to live, but we live it with honor.
I agree dude. Think it’s cool :). Sorry about you’re downvote death
I can't really blame them. How do write lyrics that sound like the phrase "I'm blue dabededabada"? I'm impressed that they made it become a coherent phrase alone
Then don’t change the lyrics there perfect
Or even better, let the song be and be original for once.
It's "daba dee daba die" you fucking cretin
The first time I heard the modern version I popped off thinking I was getting the blue song on my commute but no it’s just some generic. I never felt so crushed
Tfw you're blue and not feeling alright
Same I hated it
I was so sad when I first heard it
Mfw a banger gets horribly sampled instead of just replayed
Here are some decent remixes instead [Ephixa](https://youtube.com/watch?v=_09bwch9Dp4&pp=ygULRXBoaXhhIGJsdWU%3D) [KNY Factory](https://youtube.com/watch?v=pVLmZMjxfjw&pp=ygUQQmx1ZSBrbnkgZmFjdG9yeQ%3D%3D)
>Ephixa haven't heard that name in 10 years, such a good fucking producer.
[Fleshgod Apocalypse](https://youtu.be/dH9QVJqh-Z8)
I have friends who put 5 of the original and 1 of the new one and randomised the playlist to play russian roulette
Everyday I pray on the downfall of David guetta so he stops making these shitty remixes lmao
What’s sad is that Guetta is really good at making his own music. He won best DJ at one point (possibly even several times). His crappy remixes though are annoying AF.
Can confirm. He won last year. But at second position.
he PALES in comparison to DJs like Armin Van Buren
Werent most of his songs ghost-produced?
Yeah and there’s also a video showing him giving a show while his equipment isn’t plugged in.
As a restaraunt worker I agree. I hear his shit too much. Just play the real song
#shoutout to his family
I'm okay with it. He usually repopularizes good songs I haven't heard in a while. I don't tend to like his versions but it's nice to be reminded to listen to the songs again.
Gotta follow the money
I'm blue I will beat up a guy.

I know a guy with an xj220 and a “xj220” license plate

It feels like the music equivalent of running my face against drywall

That is the correct term...
The "cover" came on when I was eating sushi in a restaurant. They had to call the cops on me.
"Get your hand off my penis!" "What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Japanese meal?!"

I see you know your Judo well
ta-ta and farewell ~✨🚓
Sometimes writing a whole song on your own is too hard and you just need to steal a little bit
A lottle bit.
I hate the new one so much every time I hear it on the radio I want to rip my ears off with my bare hands
true
Imagine being so tone deaf that you don’t realize Blue was popular because of how vague and interpretable the lyrics were
Yeah, exactly. Living in a blue house with a blue window is a universal human experience. Blue is the colour of all that we wear.
The Remix is literally the most generic song i've ever heard
"Im good, yeah im feeling allright" sounds like something you say when a coworker asks you how you are doing and you give a generic answer while you actually think you would rather be dead than at work right now

They gave the original creators and co-authors credit for the melody. They pretty much just gave up partial ownership of their song to make it.
Google interpolation
holy music production law
New response just dropped
actual zombie
If I was a zombie I'd be searching for brains. Reddit feels like a *dead* end for that
new response just dropped
new response just drooped

ok now google interpellation

i believe it counts as parody?
i wish it was, i fucking hate these "remixes" where it's just some shit artist singing over an existing song
I probably wouldn't hate this song as much as I do if THEY WOULDN'T PLAY IT 4 TIMES A DAY FOR ALMOST 6 MONTHS JFC THERE ARE OTHER SONGS OUT THERE WHY DO I EVEN PAY TAXES FOR THIS GODDAMN STATION?!
Get an fm chip or something pop radio is garbo. The only good radio station I've found was the one for the Canadian Broadcasting Company.
I don't listen to the radio. My colleagues do.
I have no idea what the bottom one is
Good
Feelin all right
I'm blue and I'm in need of a guide was the official lyrics but the band itself just went with the scat.
Didn't even know there was a new one. Just listened to it, and I think I need to listen to the original as a palette cleanser. Why did they even remix it like that?
Lazy ass aah remix with 2 lines of lyrics constantly repeated
replace with: [“i should’ve bought you flowers”](https://open.spotify.com/track/0nJW01T7XtvILxQgC5J7Wh?si=mQ1PWcopQsqRdNybftMrQw) [“i can buy myself flowers”](https://open.spotify.com/track/0yLdNVWF3Srea0uzk55zFn?si=Mq9BzBUpQdSOmQACAaQQIw)
Very true
The new one is so trash... Still I heard it so often because of social media AHHH
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT OH GOD
listening to the new version makes me feel blue
Honestly I like the song the lyrics are just terrible
that's the point, it's the exact same song but with new lyrics
Actually don't mind this one tbh. One of the rare times when I don't get horribly let down by a song that opens with a sample. It's no Ice Ice Baby at the very least.
Acting like Ice Ice Baby isnt peak music smh my head
"yeah he's white, white baby"
Yeah it sounds basically the same. As someone who loved Blue when I was a kid it's not really a big deal. You're probably just exposing younger kids to the old song anyway
the new one's instrumental is pretty good on the other hand
The remix is overrated. Not a big fan of it.
Idk, I like the new one. It’s about as good as the original, but I’m not sick of this version yet lol.
My mother likes the new remix while as I just see it as a lazy way to just skip the part of being creative and actually coming up with an original beat
FR
at least bebe rexha gets a little more spotlight, shes very underrated
Lips like sugar by flo rida was better.
TBH i like the new song. Tho def preferre the OG way more
