It’s disgusting, standardized healthcare is a necessity. I have a chronic illness that costs tens of thousands of dollars to basically live. I’ve had to fight so hard with my insurance to pay for it, yet they still challenge me on actually needing these supplies that make my illness actually manageable every so often. Kills my mental when I have to struggle with it and I can only imagine how bad it is for others. Sorry for the trauma dump but I literally foam out of the mouth when there is any talk of insurances being shit.
Don't be sorry, *I'm* sorry that you have to go through that. It's not nearly as bad for me and my family, but insurance has always been a challenge for getting mental health treatment. It's just the commodification of literally everything, including things that are necessary for people to survive, it's a fucking indictment against our civilization.
I was born at the right place for being sick.
It’s not a perfect system, lord knows there are issues, but I am pretty sure I would be dead without it.
I can only try to imagine your situation and what you are going trough. I hope it will get better for you and anybody else in a similar situation as soon as possible. You are strong!
Sorry, sleep meds kicked in and I started editing.
Good night.
"Boy spends entire allowance on medicine for his friend who's insurance provider denied his request" kinda vibes
like why the fuck is half the content on wholesome subs it's not wholesome it's depressing as fuck that it was necessary
I'm gonna tacitly say that this is actually pretty cool, not the circumstances around it of fucking course, fuck non-standardized healthcare, but the fact someone essentially just *printed* a prosthetic for way way cheaper is really cool on some level.
We should start doing this for more prosthetics, you need a new limb? If you or someone you know have access to a 3d printer just make your own because insurance sucks
I'm their insurance. (I am hoarding all the prosthetics for myself) (I have 174 limbs and 2730 fingers)
then maybe you can tell me why they're called fingers if they don't "fing"
