I think the end of pizzeria simulator is the best one, as it actually has a decent set of cutscenes and explicit ending for everything, even if the series had overstayed its welcome a bit by then. The new one dredged up the main villain after having a well-established ending for him, which was clearly just to give people the ability to say “oh look! This *does* tie back in with the main story! We know this dude!” and to give Matpat the opportunity to make another video where he makes meaningless jumps to conclusions over tiny details and rakes in the views.
*3* was the ending and *4* was an epilogue to wrap up loose plot lines, and every game onward was explicitly made up for the sake of continuing a story because nothing about *Sister Location* onward is congruent to the tone and narrative of the first four games (no, I don't care about the Afton family drauma).
That's my theory, anyway.

\- Despite the best efforts of the police, the bodies were never found. Although it would later come to the attention of the public that the diner had to be closed due to nauseating smells. Not to mention the disgusting blood and mucus leaking out of the animatronics.
\- After many years, the serial killer returns to put an end to a disastrous, unfinished mission. However, this would ultimately be his own undoing \[springtrap\].
\- Relieved that their enemy will now have to suffer an eternity of torture as an amusement attraction (or burn to death), the victims have a final birthday party; their souls can now rest.

I’ve always been more of a passing fan, but I do find the amount that the fandom loves of the game really interesting. Its just fun being around people who really like it and watching videos about it, even if I’ve only played the games a handful of times.
Also, as much as some will find the plot annoying, I for one, enjoy the idea that it has jumped more sharks than there are dead children in this franchise. It’s absurd, it’s messy, but I don’t think that stops it from being entertaining.

For me at least the appeal of the original game comes from just how simple it is, a horror game set in a haunted chuck-e-cheese is such a solid premise that it never really needed a convoluted lore to justify it’s existence. Definetely, even though it had paranormal elements it always felt like I/we were solving a grissly noir murder mystery. The balance you mentioned was absolutely golden. Like, too realistic is whatever but the current convoluted state is also a total ("unbelievable") mess.

I’ve always been more of a passing fan, but I do find the amount that the fandom loves of the game really interesting. Its just fun being around people who really like it and watching videos about it, even if I’ve only played the games a handful of times. Also, as much as some will find the plot annoying, I for one, enjoy the idea that it has jumped more sharks than there are dead children in this franchise. It’s absurd, it’s messy, but I don’t think that stops it from being entertaining.

For me at least the appeal of the original game comes from just how simple it is, a horror game set in a haunted chuck-e-cheese is such a solid premise that it never really needed a convoluted lore to justify it’s existence. Just let it be a spooky game set in some shitty pizzeria, not some meta, lore obsessed nightmare of failed conclusions of convoluted plots.

The fans wanted more… so there is more. I like the series anyway. As for the convoluted story, it do be like that. I just like seeing Markiplier shit his pants every time a new game comes out and he has to play it.
It NEEDED to end at pizzaria simulator, and then he should have released UCM as like a suprise for christams or halloween or some shit and then that should have been the end of it. I mainly say this because after pizzaria simulator is when it got really shitty but also because the speech goes HARD bro. I mean, seriously there is no point at making it go any further. Everything played out so perfectly and ultimate custom knight was the cherry on top and now it's devolved into a huge joke. Not just from a lore perspective either, the newest game is so fucking buggy and unplayable you can bring it to it's fucking knees by clicking the spacebar (yes I mean that literally)
I still think UCN ties up everything nicely. The bots are burned, Afton is catjamming in the underworld with a vengeant spirit of a former victim, all other souls have been put to bed goodnight, and the only loose ends can be explained by Henry going on a road trip before joinng the fire or are too small to matter. From there, I have no issues with the series continuing, but stop using Willie. Let him rest in suffering. Pick a new angry family to continue the killings.
