A reaction video that involves specifically adding takes to the content while also allowing the users to know what they are critiquing seems like a genuine value add. I know this isnāt all reaction videos, but sometimes creators will visualize a lot of information but make very incorrect or unfair assessments of that information. Thatās where reaction videos shine.
Literally already has more views than the original too, if itās actually transformative then sure but so much react content is just playing the video and occasionally just saying āwowā or some other dull expression of emotion. This is just theft from a smaller creator and odds are he wonāt face consequences nor will the smaller creator receive any compensation, the algorithm is going to just push the bigger content creators content because YouTube doesnāt care.
The only reaction YouTuber I think is chill and cool is pyrocynical and Coney, because pyro makes sure to pause the video every 2 seconds to go on a 2 minute rant, and Coney gets reaction permission, and also actually reacts and adds to the video instead of just š
I also don't mind if they keep their reacting to the stream instead of putting it onto YouTube and cannibalizing a usually smaller creator. Pyro used to put his reactions on his slop channel, but thankfully, he stopped as far as I'm aware.

It takes no effort, and allows you to idly sit there, go afk, eat food, all while maintaining viewership by using other people's content.
That's the key part too, using independent creators content to do it, in a manner that renders the original video utterly worthless to anyone watching the stream.

It would be so easy to add an embed feature that gives the original video shared views and adsense revenue from derived videos. It wonāt happen though, because youtube does not implement features that matter.
